About The Monterey
Hearing & Balance Center
Michele J. Ikuta AuD,
FAAA Michele Ikuta has served the needs of patients with hearing and balance disorders for over 29 years. She was staff audiologist at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica and then Chief Audiologist of Communicative Disorders at Glendale Adventist Medical Center before moving to the Monterey Peninsula. Michele purchased The Monterey Hearing Center in 1989 and expanded the Center’s services to include audiology and dizziness assessment. The Monterey Hearing & Balance Center remains the only facility on the Peninsula with diagnostic equipment specifically designed to locate the cause of balance disorders. With a Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D), Michele's educational depth is matched by the scope of her professional experience. She has cared for clients from pediatric to geriatric, those with mild to severe hearing loss, and those with mild to severe balance disorders, including Meniere's disease. Her audiologic treatments include hearing devices and aural rehabilitation. Michele is a member of good standing in the following professional organizations: – AAA (American
Academy of Audiology)
